From Dental Office To Dental Lab: How Lindsay Found Her Calling

Welcome back to another week of highlighting the incredible talent we have here at Team Solutions! 

Introducing Lindsay Selph, our Customer Service Team Lead. Lindsay has been a valued part of the TSD team for over four years and embodies the values on which we operate. We recognize the importance of sharing our knowledge and experience with those who come after us, and Lindsay is the perfect example of how we strive to do so. 

Prior to joining Team Solutions, Lindsay had been a Dental Assistant but yearned for a change in her career. She came across the opening for Clinical Support here at Team Solutions Dental, and her curiosity compelled her to make a call to find out more. After a thirty-minute conversation with Jason Borden, a member of the ownership team", she applied for the position. After a successful and thorough two-and-a-half-hour interview, Lindsay was offered the position as a Clinical Support team member. 

Lindsay wasted no time showcasing her skills and abilities and, as a result,she transitioned from taking incoming calls and scheduling incoming cases to working alongside TSD Co-Founder, Chad Holman, to handle outgoing calls as a way of better assisting the dental offices we serve. Lindsay’s understanding of how both the dental office and the dental lab work collectively toward the common goal of serving the patient made her stand out. Following a restructuring of how Team Solutions handled both  incoming and outgoing calls, Lindsay was asked to become a Team Lead and manage the new Customer Service department which would oversee both incoming and outgoing calls as well as Clinical Support.  She eagerly accepted!

Chad Holman is confident that he has chosen the right person for the job.. He explains that Lindsay  "loves to teach people" and "when she's on a mission she tackles it…" which is why he chose her. He adds that there is a "trust factor" involved with her; he can come in, "spout out a solution," and she just gets it.

On a daily basis, she is responsible for scheduling, and serving our customers by answering incoming and outgoing calls, and providing excellent customer service. She finds the most rewarding part of this job is the never-ending opportunity to gain knowledge, such as learning more about different facets of the dental lab industry.. She is constantly learning something new and is passionate about her job in Customer Service, stating, “I love helping people, and that is exactly what I get to do every day.”

Celebrating her team's accomplishments is one of Lindsay's favorite activities. To support this initiative, she has established a ‘High Five Board’ to honor technicians when they receive praise from our customers. The High Five’s align with two of the TSD Values- “Reward Commitment At All Levels.” and “Deliver Over The Top Service”. This is something Lindsay enjoys about working for TSD, “The company does a lot to demonstrate appreciation. They provide lunch, gift cards, take us out for happy hour, and Jason will even prepare breakfast and lunch for the whole staff.”

Throughout her tenure at TSD, Lindsay has successfully grown her team by being willing to share her knowledge with others. Here at TSD, we are passionate about growth and development, which is why we do not take the title of ‘Team Lead’ lightly. Those interested in the position must be committed to their own professional growth and to helping to develop the employees they lead. Executive Leadership will provide guidance, but the willingness to learn and grow is crucial to the individual’s success. 

Our President and Co-Founder, Jason DeFranco, has been a key mentor to Lindsay stating, “I have learned so much in my years here from Jason.” She praises his exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching and transforming people. 

Team Solutions Dental has an exciting year ahead and it has all just begun! One of our most recent projects is TSD Collaborate™, our new customer portal, which allows our customer access to generate an RX, upload files, schedule pickups and request a call back! Lindsay has been given the opportunity to be a part of its planning and execution, “We are constantly thinking about ways to improve and creating innovative ideas to add to it. I think it's super cool because we built it from scratch.” 

This is just the beginning for Lindsay’s future with us at Team Solutions and, with bright dreams and big plans to achieve them she gives some advice to those job seekers out there who are struggling to find career advancement opportunities:, “If you can’t beat them, join them - and we are hiring!”
